Q: What are the rooms like?
A: 12 spacious cabanas each have two queen sized beds, a sitting area and private bath adorned with hand made ceramic tile; and private veranda. For your comfort, cabanas have both air-conditioning and ceiling fans.

Q: What is the main lodge like?
A: The main lodge is atop the plateau summit of "Machaca Hill" for which the original farm was named. It features a reception area, restaurant, bar, reading room, fly shop, gift shop, conference room and sprawling verandas on 2 levels.

Q: How do we get to Machaca Hill?
A: Machaca Hill is conveniently located 1 hour by air from Belize City and five miles by road north of Punta Gorda Town. We can arrange local airline flights and transfers between the Punta Gorda airstrip and Machaca Hill.

Q: What is the tipping policy at Machaca Hill?
A: Tipping is a personal decision based on service. Normally guides and staff are tipped upon departure in accordance to help rendered. Ask the Lodge managers for guidelines.

Q: Will my cell phone work in Belize?
A: If your service is compatible with the local telecommunications service [check with www.btl.net] your cell phone will work in Belize but it might not at the lodge as we may be out of range. It does work in Punta Gorda and in areas on the sea.

Q: What type of food is served at Machaca Hill?
A: The Arbor Restaurant located in the main lodge offers a balanced mixture of fresh, local seafood and regional cuisine with many of the herbs, vegetables and tropical fruit organically grown at Machaca Hill. Vegetarian, children and other menus are happily accommodated.

A: Reservations can be made in a variety of ways - by emailing us directly; using our online booking service; or via a travel agent or tour operator.
